Our Contributor Tricja, works regularly with models from the Wilma Wakker agency, last week we shot a series together with a new model Juliette. This week our eyes are on the Godmother of all modelling agencies, Wilma Wakker. She is the founder and director of Wilma Wakker Management. During the seventies Wilma worked at an intimate modelling bureau Marjan Bos Free Models. Where according to Wilma the models had a very “stoned and lost” look Afterwards she found jobs in styling and met her now husband Martin Robbe. Together they made the first photos of Linde Spierings.
In December ’99 Wilma began scouting faces, she met and signed Annemarie Michels who was still in school at the time so it was a slow process, she didn’t actually begin her own bureau until she was 50.
Now she had some well known names signed with her name like, Better Franke, Estella Boersma, Hanna Verhees, Kim Noord, Sanne Vloet and Sophie Vlaming.
Tricja works closely with photographer David Cohen de Lara making test shoots for Wilma’s models who need to update their portfolios. Tricja and Wilma have the same kind of style so working together is always a success. According to Tricja, Wilma is kind and direct and has a fantastic circle of good models that are well coached for the modelling world.
